For Communicator Translator (Chrome Extension)
Last Updated: April 25, 2026
Communicator Translator ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
Our extension requires access to your microphone and browser tab audio. This audio data is processed in real-time solely for the purpose of generating text translations for your meetings and chats.
The extension accesses the content of your active chat boxes (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, Meet) strictly to read incoming messages for translation and to inject your translated replies. We do not read, store, or transmit your personal conversations or browsing history to our servers.
We store your preferences (e.g., selected languages, UI positions) and your personal API Keys locally on your device using the Chrome Local Storage API. This data never leaves your browser except when sent directly to the official translation API provider (e.g., Google/Gemini).
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information, chat history, or audio data to any third parties.
We implement reasonable security measures to maintain the safety of your information locally on your device. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
